Malvern College Egypt’s Inauguration Word by

Former Prime Minister of the United Kingdom attended the launch of Malvern College Egypt (MCE), and delivered the following word:

“Thank you so much for giving me the huge pleasure of being here with you this evening; I would like to say a special word to the ministers who are here. I know you have got a tough job, but you should know how much the world wants and needs Egypt to be strong, stable and successful. I believe that, God willing, it will be, and that the future of Egypt will be bright. Egypt has a great and proud civilization. And today, of course, it faces challenges some of which are short term like economic instability, while others are long term.

And the one thing we know about our world today is that, whether it's in Egypt or in any other country, the education of the people is key to unlocking the gateway of the future. So, as we gather here today in honor of this partnership between Malvern College in the UK and Malvern College now to be established in Egypt, we recognize the importance of education for the people of Egypt. Now, Malvern College is a great private school in the UK. I didn’t go there myself; I actually think I wasn’t clever enough, but I did go to a private school in the UK during the 60's and 70's. At that point in time, the British private schools were really drawn up in order to serve the Empire and, I remember, when I was there at school, the great transition that the private schools underwent; they changed from serving the Empire to becoming a model of worldwide excellence in education. As we see today, they exported this model to the world; however, during that process they also did something else that was important, they learnt what Malvern College can do here in Egypt.”

The Former Prime Minister than conclude with best wishes of success.
