Eng. Hani Azer
Eng. Azer headed the construction of the tunnel beneath Berlin's Tiergarten in 1994. Subsequently, he became the Chief Engineer of Germany's fourth largest train station in Berlin, known as the Berlin Hauptbahnhof.
On May 26, 2006, German Chancellor Angela Merkel honored Eng. Azer for his efforts and services to Germany at the inauguration celebration of the Berlin train station. Eng. Azer was awarded the Medal of the German Republic during the event. In October 2006, Eng. Azer received the Verdienstorden des Landes Berlin (Merit of the State of Berlin) award for outstanding service to the State and was later recognized by the Egyptian President Hosni Mubarak for his outstanding work in Egypt. Today, Eng. Azer is on President Abdel Fattah el-Sisi’s Advisory Council of Egypt’s Scientists and Experts.
