Founded in 1958, Azazy Group was established with a mission to provide equal opportunities and access to education in Egypt. The vision was to establish a network of educational institutions for K-12 education with an educational model which is replicable, sustainable, affordable and economically viable.Over the years, the Group grew to cater for mainstream K-12 education, for technical and vocational education, and for higher education. We aim to build self-discipline, self-confidence, and to develop communication and leadership skills.

Hayah Foundation for Sustainable Development

Established in 2011, Hayah Foundation for Sustainable Development (HFSD) is a non-profit organization. Moreover, the Foundation does not receive any external funding.

Since its beginnings as a charity organization, HFSD managed to work in many projects and activities that served the community. Consistent with its vision and mission, the Foundation directed its efforts to particularly serve the poor and vulnerable groups, women and children.

Vision

To facilitate the creation of an economically, socially and culturally more advanced society that values the role youth play in volunteering and participating in public work.

Mission

To increase the capabilities of Egyptian families empowering them to create a more advanced stable community on both the social and economic levels through providing projects that support the vulnerable groups in the community.

Activities

In 2014, the Foundation managed to help about 20,000 family members by addressing the problem of poverty-reduction and contributing to the improvement of the economic and social welfare of the poorest and neediest families allover Egypt. Their mission of this initiative was to ensure that the neediest families are having their most basic needs fulfilled (food, health, housing, education, etc. …).

1- Developmental Projects

    Are projects that aim at increasing the capacities of different groups and their social standards. Examples are:

    • Providing microcredit finance for youth
    • Helping disabled people
    • Supporting the debtors socially and economically. 
    • Supporting the infrastructure in poor areas and families
    • Offering illiteracy eradication classes
    • Giving programs for empowering women
    • Supporting innovative and cultural competitions

2- Charity Programs

    Are projects that support poor families who are incapable of working. Support is given in the form of direct and indirect financial assistance. Examples are:

    • Ramadan project (food packages and food tables)
    • Clothes distribution
    • Provision of needs for brides
    • Support of orphans
    • Distribution of meat during Al Adha Feast
    • Provision of a monthly stipend for poor families
    • Extension of medical and health care service
    • Conduction of Winter Convoys (blanket distribution)

3- Health Programs

Pertain to the Corporate Social Responsibility program that provides beneficiaries with therapeutic convoys. FUE student volunteers survey the needs of beneficiaries for medicine as well as medical services and address these needs. Health Programs also include a dental checkup for children at school and raise the awareness of hygiene.

4- Childhood and Orphans Programs

Giving care to orphans is one of the issues that attracts the CSR Program and encourages volunteer participation. Among its top objectives, the Program cares for and addresses the needs of orphans to make up for their lack of family support.

5- Literacy classes

Literacy classes are offered to women, men and children including debtors who dropped out of school. Literacy classes are set up to empower children and to safeguard them against child labor. Apart from the literacy classes, the program includes developing a strategy to financially cover the needs of families that have children in school; this is carried out through the initiative entitled "Towards Education for Every Child".
